Hundreds rally in Istanbul against Turkey's potential military action in Syria

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Istanbul on Sunday, to protest against potential military action by Turkey in northern Syria.

The demonstration was organised by  Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).

Turkish President Recip Tayyip Erdogan said last month that military intervention remains on the agenda until the country’s security concerns are addressed.

Areas close to the Turkey-Syria border are controlled by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG); a group Ankara considers 'terrorists', along with its political wing, the Democratic Union Party (PYD).
