Cryptо.cоm accidentally transfers $10.5m to user instead of $100

In May 2021, crypto platform Cryptо.cоm accidentally transferred $10.5 million to a woman in Melbourne, Australia when she was seeking a $100 refund.

The erroneous transaction was discovered more than seven months later as a result of a year-end audit.

The crypto trading platform launched legal action to get the money back. The court heard the company accidentally entered an account number in the payment field instead of the $100 refund.

However, before the company made an attempt to return the funds, the recipient, along with her sister, bought a multi-million dollar mansion with a gym and a cinema in the suburbs of Melbourne (pictured). However, the judge ruled to sell the property and return the remaining money.
