Prisoner in Kakumiro bites the dust while getting away from custody

A detainee from Kyabasenge prison in Kakumiro has imploded and kicked the bucket while endeavoring to escape from legitimate custody. The departed is Henry Tumukunde, 20, an occupant of Bugwara town in Nalweyo sub-region.

The episode occurred on Saturday evening, as indicated by the source. It is asserted that prison specialists had sent Tumukunde along with different detainees to gather firewood from the adjoining Kyabasaija town when he endeavored to get away.

Prison officers began seeking after him as he took off and he collapsed simultaneously. He was raced to Kakumiro health cemtre IV where he was articulated dead. A prison officer  told the source on state of anoymity that while his partners were gathering firewood, Tumukunde attempted to evade provoking them to seek after him.

The Uganda Prison Services Spokesperson Frank Baine couldn't offer remark as he neither picked nor returned calls to his known mobile number. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine district police representative says police have given the departed's body to his family members for burial.

As indicated by Hakiza, the departed has been fighting charges of compromising brutality where he took steps to kill his dad over land. This occurrence comes only hours after obscure attackers struck Kyakasengura prison encampment in Kibaale and cut a prison officer in the stomach utilizing a sharp blade.
