Parliament has passed the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) (Special provisions) bill into act of Parliament.


The bill will facilitate the implementation of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline project in Uganda.

The bill now awaits the assent of the president.

The bill will enable certain provisions of the lntergovernmental Agreement (lGA) signed between the Republic of Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania and the Host Government Agreement (HGA) signed between the Government of Uganda & the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Company.

The bill will also fully implement the obligations of Uganda under the Intergovernmental Agreement and the Host Government Agreement.
